Palliative
How do I know if this service is the support that I need?
When you or your loved one faces life-threatening illness, our volunteers can provide friendship, comfort, compassion, respite and information.
Our Visiting Volunteers offer support in homes, care facilities and hospitals. This support is intended to provide not just for the client, but as well the client’s family.
Do I need a Doctor’s Referral?
No. While we do accept Doctor’s Referrals, they are not required.

Referrals can come from:
- Yourself
- Family
- Friends
- Neighbour
- Volunteer
- Medical Professional
- Clergy
- Case Manager
- Community Agency

Bereavement
To move through the loss of someone you have loved is one of the most challenging aspects of life. HKL’s individual support and grief programming can help you move through your grief journey
Our Bereavement services are free of cost and there is no waiting list
Hospice Kawartha Lakes offers individual (one-on-one) grief support to children, youth and adults
Our trained volunteers will visit you, or your child in home, school, or other location
