Our volunteers are special people who generously dedicate their time and talent. While they all have varied backgrounds and interests, our volunteers share a common reason for what they do – compassion.
Client Care/Visiting Volunteers
Client Care/Visiting Volunteers offer their time to people and families in need of palliative or bereavement support. As volunteers, your presence is the importance of your visit. You might hold a hand, read a book, help prepare a meal, watch a favourite television program, or just listen.
Hospice Kawartha Lakes has clients of all backgrounds and we provide services to anyone aged 5 and up.

Our Client Care/Visiting Volunteers are required to participate in a 30 hour training program, which runs twice a year.

Fundraising Committee
Hospice Kawartha Lakes is currently seeking to build a fundraising team of dedicated and energetic people. This team would work with staff to help with event planning, publicity, a bi-annual newsletter and more. Public Awareness Committee
Hospice Kawartha Lakes is currently seeing to build a Public Awareness team of dedicated and enthusiastic people. This team would work with staff to share our message in the community. Primarily the PAC will provide other community agencies with presentations about various aspects of Hospice Kawartha Lakes (ie: our services, grief groups, donor issues etc) If you feel as though you have the time and dedication to be a part of this team or would like to find out more, contact Carolyn Parkes at 705-324-2811 (ext. 3) or carolyn@HospiceKL.ca
Office Support
We are always looking for volunteers to help around the office, whether it be to stuff envelopes, make phone calls, or support staff in various ways.
